Gluware is excited to announce Gluware® Control 3.5, the latest release of its Intelligent Network Automation platform. Gluware Control enables its Intent-based Applications to help enterprises manage their mission-critical networks. “Listening to customers and seeing the growing demands on their time and resources, we’ve brought to market a number of new features to help them automate complex and time-consuming tasks on their journey to an Intent-based network. Gluware 3.5 keeps their brownfield multi-vendor, multi-platform networks in-policy and easily deploys new greenfield features,” explains Gluware CEO, Jeff Gray.
Gluware Config Drift and Audit App Addresses Pain Points of Network Configuration Audits
Gluware Control 3.5 provides a significant enhancement to the existing Config Drift App, adding a powerful Config Audit capability to address the challenges of multi-vendor, multi-platform internal and standards-based (such as SOX, PCI DSS and HIPAA) network configuration audits. This new solution enables network operations to easily identify configuration policy violations across a network of any size.
The Gluware Config Drift and Audit App now enables users to define audit policies with rules-based permitted and forbidden configuration statements. These rules support native vendor CLI along with scoping based on OS, block concepts and regular expressions (RegEx). Users can manually trigger audits or use the integrated scheduler. Audits can be run on a specified or filtered group of network nodes. Details of the audit are presented in the results view and are available as a CSV-detailed export. Gluware Config Drift and Audit continues to provide the powerful drift detection capability previously supported.
New Gluware API Enables Network Management Ecosystem
Network management and automation solutions must exist in an ecosystem of other products, all working together to provide monitoring, configuration management, IT system workflow management and more. To satisfy this critical customer requirement, Gluware has published its API, GluAPI, enabling a programmatic interface so customers can leverage the power of Gluware automation and orchestration capabilities via API. This first release of the GluAPI enables core API endpoint services with support to access all the device management capabilities including search, create, read, update and delete functions along with the Gluware Device Detect discovery actions and results. GluAPI is delivered to customers with built-in documentation and examples available on GitHub.
Gluware OS Upgrade App Delivers Enhanced Reliability Features
The Gluware OS Upgrade App allows customers to automate the management of their networking device operating systems and has been further enhanced to enable reliability features and minimize downtime on large scale networks. New features include:
- New pre-checks of the node state
- Pre-reboot health check for IOS/IOS-XE routers and switches, ASA firewalls and NXOS switches
- Post-reboot assessment
- Nested upgrade engine (IOS/IOS-XE, ASA and NXOS) including installation support for ROMMON packages and ASDM packages after an ASA image upgrade
- Support for ROMMON upgrades for ISR 1000, ISR 4000, and ASR 1000 series routers
- Support for IOS-XE Chassis (4500E) including image upgrade with two supervisor engines running in RPR/SSO Mode and support for Catalyst chassis image validation with Cisco Support API
Improved Integration with Cisco® Support APIs
In the previous Gluware Control release 3.4, Gluware introduced a Workflow package with support to leverage the Cisco APIs* to check devices for PSIRT Advisories, EOS/EOL, and SmartNet contract status. With Gluware Control 3.5, this capability is more tightly integrated with Gluware Control adding it directly to the Device Manager grid. Additional enhancements to Device Manager help manage scale and complexity with nested grid views and grouping for custom and grid fields with advanced filtering.

Additional Features Expand on Authentication Mechanisms, Multi-vendor/Multi-platform Support
Gluware Control 3.5 adds additional an additional option for user authentication with support for external, customer-provided RADIUS to the existing LDAP or Gluware built-in RADIUS authentication options.
Gluware Control 3.5 now includes Citrix® Netscaler OS support, expanding the Gluware platform to support for 15 vendors and 19 operating systems.
