Gluware 5.8: Advancing Intelligent Network Automation with AI, Scale, and Multi-Vendor Innovation

The headline innovation in Gluware 5.8 is the introduction of Gluware Titan, the industry’s first AI-powered, intent-based network automation platform. Gluware Titan represents a significant evolution of the Gluware Co-Pilot, expanding it from a documentation-assisted helper into a fully agentic AI experience powered by an Intelligent MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server. Gluware Titan is currently in Early Field Trials (EFT).

Gluware Titan combines several powerful capabilities:

  • Agentic AI execution that can reason, orchestrate actions, and validate outcomes
  • A Gluware-built MCP server with tools trained specifically on Gluware’s platform, data models, and automation constructs
  • Deep validation using DIAL, ensuring AI-generated actions align with real device behavior and vendor semantics
  • Integration with external MCP services and enterprise platforms such as NetBox and ServiceNow
  • Support for Bring Your Own LLM, enabling customers to use Gluware-provided or enterprise-approved language models

This architecture ensures that AI-driven automation is not only fast and intuitive but also safe, deterministic, and production-ready.

For operations teams, Gluware Titan delivers contextual, in-workflow assistance to accelerate tasks such as building network state assessments, generating LiquidJS templates for Network RPA workflows, and gaining deeper insight into network lifecycle management. For automation builders and NetDevOps teams, Titan dramatically reduces the effort required to create custom data models, automation logic, and integrations inside the Gluware IDE, often accelerating development by orders of magnitude.

Platform Enhancements That Expand What’s Possible

Beyond AI, Gluware 5.8 introduces important platform enhancements that increase flexibility and extensibility.

One of the most impactful additions is the ability to extend the Gluware API using Service JNIBs. Customers can now create custom REST endpoints that expose Gluware automation logic to external systems. This allows Gluware to act not just as an automation engine, but as a programmable service layer within a broader IT ecosystem—enabling seamless integration with portals, workflows, and third-party applications.

Extended Device Properties (EDP), introduced in an earlier release, are also significantly enhanced in 5.8. EDPs allow users to define rich, JSON-based extensions to Gluware’s device data model. In 5.8, EDP data is now fully available within Dashboards and Data Explorer, enabling more powerful reporting, visualization, and operational insight—especially for dynamic or custom attributes that go beyond traditional inventory fields.

Another key improvement addresses operational reliability. Updated SYSLOG trigger conditions now suppress triggers when changes are made using device service credentials configured in Gluware. This prevents automation feedback loops and ensures SYSLOG-based remediation workflows only respond to truly unauthorized or external changes.

Expanded Multi-Vendor Support and Performance Improvements

Gluware’s commitment to multi-vendor automation continues in 5.8 with expanded support across the application suite.

Highlights include new and enhanced support for:

  • HPE Aruba Mobility Controllers (beta)
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM)
  • Cisco Meraki CAT9K platforms
  • Fortinet FortiManager via API, including managed device ingestion with configurable exclusions

OS Manager enhancements align Gluware with Cisco’s shift toward individual package-based IOS-XE upgrades and introduce configurable transfer timeouts to better support diverse network conditions.

Configuration Modeling also sees a major improvement with batch commit support for platforms such as Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS-XR, Palo Alto PAN-OS, Check Point Gaia, and F5 TMOS. By committing multiple configuration changes in a single operation, Gluware reduces provisioning time and minimizes unnecessary SYSLOG noise, delivering faster, cleaner automation outcomes.

Network RPA Enhancements for Real-World Automation

Network RPA, Gluware’s process automation engine, gains expanded support for offline devices—a critical capability for IoT and intermittently connected environments. In addition, Network RPA now fully supports Extended Device Properties, enabling workflows that filter, branch, and even update EDP values dynamically.

These enhancements allow customers to automate broader classes of devices and workflows that were previously difficult or impossible to manage using traditional network automation approaches.
